My college and university training is in the discipline of Economics. For my PhD at the Social Sciences Division of the Indian Statistical Institute, I worked on the thesis A Study of Food Security in Rural Odisha. My thesis focused on food and employment-based social security programmes and their contribution to household level food security.
Over a period of time, I have developed a keen interest in inter-disciplinary research bordering on the domain of Development Studies. I am most particularly interested in the socio-economic and policy-oriented studies pertaining to food, education, health, and agrarian markets. Within the discipline of Economics, I teach and research in the domains of Development and Public Economics.
